Now, if you've been following my content over the years, you know that my sweet tooth is crazy !! I had to do a round-up of all my favorite desserts in the city. Some of them are from sit-down restaurants, and some are easier grab-and-go options, but they're all absolutely delicious!

Restaurants

Claud is a contemporary American restaurant in New York City known for its inventive cuisine - like chicken liver agnolotti (which is delicious!). But their chocolate cake cannot be missed. It is by far one of my most memorable desserts, with layers of rich chocolate ganache and moist chocolate cake. It is exactly what I imagine the chocolate Matilda to taste

like - highly recommended!

La Mercerie is a French café and bakery, offering pastries, sandwiches, and classic French dishes. They have some solid brunch options but the stand out here is their off menu chocolate chip cookie. This was by far one of my most viral videos and I’m pretty sure an army of New Yorkers swarmed the bistro looking for this delicious cookie! Perfectly made with

crisp edges and a gooey center and the sweetness is balanced with flaky sea salt on top.

A buzzy new French restaurant that opened in the famous Hotel Chelsea. They blew up immediately upon opening so I’ve heard mixed reviews on the service but we did enjoy our meal which included the Ravioles Du Dauphiné and Steak Frites. However, the dark chocolate souffle with chocolate sauce was a must order. We got a side of fresh strawberries

that paired perfectly with the rich chocolate. Pro tip: order this early early in the meal, it takes ~30 minutes to make!

A perfect date night spot in Carroll Gardens. Its a French Canadian restaurant with a small, delicious menu and a great wine and cocktail list. But the most famous dish is their yellow cake with a massive helping of dark chocolate icing on top sprinkled with sea salt. Perfectly balanced with sweet and salty and a great dessert to split after your meal.

Virginias

Virginia’s is known for their delicious, thick cut burger which is why I went there in the first place. However, the item that has me dying to go back is their banana pudding. This might be their best kept secret and dare I say, it might be better than the famous Magnolia Bakery banana pudding (that I also love).

I loved my entire meal at this restaurant and highly recommend but I have to specifically call out their delicious dessert, the Fried Tangyuan with Ice Cream. So many flavors and textures, the fried tangyuan with a light batter, peanut butter powder, condensed milk, vanilla ice cream, black sesame sauce, and fresh cilantro. Yes, it sounds chaotic but it is so delicious.

Lilia

Lilia is one of the most sought after reservations and serve some delicious Italian food. While the food is delicious, the dessert is not to be missed. My favorite is called "The Italian Job" which is their soft-serve gelato, sea salt, honey, olive oil, and fennel pollen. It sounds simple but it is the perfect combination of salty and sweet, you can't miss it.

Bad Roman

My favorite item on the entire menu might have to be the lemon cheesecake. Although I enjoyed my meal when I went, I've heard some mixed reviews on the other food items on the menu since my visit. However, everyone agrees that the cheesecake is delicious and it's actually shaped like lemons. It Is two hollow white chocolate lemons that are filled with a light cheesecake mousse, with some lemon curd in the middle, on top of graham cracker crumbs. A must order if you go.

Grab n Go

Cafe Panna

Quite possibly my favorite ice cream of all time. It’s inspired by Italian gelato, which is probably why I love it so much, and they use high quality ingredients. My favorite flavors are the Red Flag or the Cookies ‘n Panna but there are so many delicious options. My wife like to get their vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt topped with their fresh whipped panna. This is worth the line, in my opinion!

This is one of my go-to spots when I have a sweet craving. Their strawberry shortcake is my go-to and they're known for their brooklyn blackout cake. Cakes, cookies, cupcakes, mini cheesecakes, this place should be your go-to.

My favorite thick, gooey cookies in the city! They’re known for their intricately designed, thin sugar cookies but the gooey cookies are where it’s at. I can never choose between their traditional chocolate chip, smores, funfetti, or cookies and cream cookies - they’re all amazing!

Culture Espresso

There are many locations around the city and their chocolate chip cookies are many people’s favorite. I used to live close to one of their locations and went wayyy too often. If you do get their chocolate chip cookie, ask if they will warm it up for you!

Magnolia Bakery

Known for their famous banana pudding but they also have tons of other delicious sweets. I’ve also tried some of their special flavors of the banana pudding, like red velvet banana pudding, and they’re all delicious but I still think the OG reigns supreme.

Janie’s is most famous for her Pie Crust Cookies which she created on a quest to deliver a perfectly balanced bite of pie with every bite. The cookies are small but she definitely achieved her goal because every bite delivers a flaky crust, a delicious layer of filling and buttery streusel.

Fan Fan Donuts

These donuts are delicious and always taste fresh. They have a lot of unique flavors but they’re the most famous for their guava and cheese.

Peter Pan Donuts

This is such a classic spot and my go-to donut place for sure. They have some unique flavors but also have all of the classics. They’re always fresh and definitely some of the best donuts in the city.
